An ailing Mexican team missing several regular starters due to injury stunned defending champion Brazil 2-0 on Wednesday, thanks to an incredible second-half performance by goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa. On Thursday a mostly second string United States on Thursday takes on soccer powerhouse Argentina, which has brought its best European-based players to Venezuela in an effort to claim its tournament-best 15th title.

Video: Tevez wants to win Copa America
The argentinian forward scored Argentina’s goal in the friendly 1-1 draw against Switzerland. Tevez says that he is concentrating on national squad at this moment. He performed a key role in the West Ham`s dramatic escape from relegation last season, scoring 7 goals in just 10 games and providing assists for others as West Ham preserved their Premiership position against the all odds.
Argentina are actively preparing for the Copa America in Venezuela starting June 26. In the last edition they finished as runners-up.

Brazilian Squad for Copa America
Real Madrid striker Robinho, AS Roma goalkeeper Doni and Werder Bremen midfielder Diego were among the 34 players selected by Brazil coach Dunga for the Copa America next month in Venezuela. As expected, Barcelona’s Ronaldinho and AC Milan’s Kaka were not summoned for the South American competition June 26-July 15, which will be Brazil’s first official competition with Dunga in command. The final 22-man roster will be announced on June 5, the Brazilian soccer confederation (CBF) said on their website.

Hernan Crespo Best Goals
Argentina striker Hernan Crespo said on Tuesday he hoped to be called up for the Copa America, a tournament at which he has yet to play.
‘I’d like to play at the Copa America because this is my last chance,’ the 31-year-old told the sports daily Ole in an interview.’It means a lot because, thanks to Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay, football history was made in South America.

Barcelona star Ronaldinho followed in the footsteps of fellow-Brazilian Kaka on Tuesday, formally asking the Brazilian Football Federation (CBF) not to be called for this year’s Copa America.
Ronaldinho based the request on the fact that he has not had a holiday for three seasons, after he played the Confederations Cup in 2005 and the World Cup in Germany in 2006.
